Ron Brooks, M.S. | Laboratory Advisory & Consulting
Who I Am
Ron Brooks, M.S. | Founder & Principal Consultant
Ron Brooks is the founder of Ron Brooks Consulting and a former laboratory operator with experience building, stabilizing, and leading regulated analytical testing environments. His work spans clinical, analytical, and specialty laboratories operating under accreditation, regulatory oversight, and audit scrutiny.
Rather than approaching laboratories from a purely compliance perspective, Ron’s background is rooted in hands-on laboratory operations — managing instrumentation platforms, implementing quality systems, leading technical teams, and navigating regulatory pressure in real time. That operational foundation informs his clinical laboratory consulting, analytical laboratory advisory, and regulatory readiness work across regulated testing environments.
Today, his work focuses on helping laboratories and lab-facing companies reduce regulatory exposure, strengthen defensibility, and align operational execution with governance-level decisions.
Operational Leadership Experience
Ron has held senior laboratory leadership roles across multiple regulated environments, including:
Scientific and Laboratory Director – BelCosta Labs
Chief Laboratory Officer – MMR Services
Leadership roles with CanMedLabs and True North Labs
LC/MS Program Manager and Field Applications Specialist – Alternative Biomedical Solutions
Throughout these roles, he led teams, built and remediated quality systems, implemented analytical methods, and managed laboratories through regulatory inspections and growth transitions.
This operational foundation informs both his advisory and hands-on consulting work.
Regulatory & Industry Experience
Ron has advised elected officials on laboratory safety and testing standards policy, has provided testimony before state-level legislative committees, and currently serves as an Editorial Board Member for Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
He is an active member of:
AOAC International
Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine
American Chemical Society
American Society for Mass Spectrometry
American Society for Quality
His work consistently bridges laboratory science, regulatory reality, and operational governance.

Advisory Perspective
Laboratories rarely struggle because of a single technical issue. More often, challenges emerge from misalignment between operational execution, quality systems, and regulatory expectations.
His advisory work frequently supports organizations preparing for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, regulatory inspections, or federal-style audit scrutiny.
Ron’s advisory approach is grounded in the belief that defensibility is built through clarity — clarity in governance, documentation, method control, and decision-making under pressure.
For organizations navigating growth, regulatory scrutiny, or structural change, clarity at the leadership level often determines whether execution succeeds or fails.
